Munson corn & haiku writing

IMG_3002Today I went out to Munson’s farm stand to see whether they still had corn.  Jeff told me that this was probably it.  I chose a lot of ears and then went home to process them.  They were still really good.

Here’s a haiku I wrote. (Yes, I know that some people have serious ideas about haiku but I’m not a professional.  I’m just sad the corn is going away.)

Peaches & cream corn
Sweet… succulent… baked and grilled
Gone with autumn’s cold

Miranda and I were talking about haiku.  She likes doing sonnets; however, she does write haiku from time to time…  Here’s what she wrote.

Sunken toys in baths
Soap with shampoo and wash cloths
Scrub-dub in the tub

Tomorrow it is likely to snow.  So, we’ll have to wait till next year for more corn inspiration but not for more cornbread because I now have many bags in my freezer ready for baking.
